What to wear to feel confident and beautiful
I completely understand how you are feeling right now, you are twiterpated because the love of your life just asked you to spend forever with him. The last thing you want to worry about is “what should we wear during our session?”, well here is where I come in. After shooting many engagement and couples sessions, I know what looks good on camera, and what is going to make you look and feel the most confident.
Dress it up:
I always suggest the fancier the better! This is your chance to go out and purchase a new dress, and heals! Heals make your legs look amazing! They lengthen your legs and subconsciously you hold yourself differently when you dress up. You may find yourself singing “Man, I feel like a woman!”
Don’t try to match, pick outfits and accessories that coordinate instead. A photo would be boring if everyone matched exactly.

Color Palette:
Depending on your dream location, plan your outfits accordingly. If you want to be in an open field with lots of yellow grass, wear a darker color so that you don’t look washed out. If you prefer the mountains where you can kiss under the pine trees, where neutral/lighter colors so that you don’t blend in.
Avoiding graphics, loud, neon colors and patterns will focus the attention on your beautiful faces rather than what you’re wearing.

The Girl:
Don’t be afraid to accessorize. Simple jewelry, a scarf, a cute sun hat, can add personality, but make sure it is YOU! I want you to feel beautiful in what you are wearing. Choose an outfit that flatters your body type.
Pamper Yourself!
I can’t say this enough. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! It’s okay to spend money on a professional makeup artist, nail tech, hairstylist, etc. It’s not everyday that you get to work with a professional photographer, take away the stress, and let a professional take care of you!
The best makeup complements your complexion and enhances your favorite features. Don’t be afraid to wear fake lashes! You have a new accessory on your finger, we are going to make sure to show it off, go have a girls day out and get your nails done so that you feel confident even down to your finger tips! Your Man:
I recommend leaving the shorts and baggy pants at home. The most masculine look for a man includes long, fitted pants, and business casual shoes. This draws the attention to his face. Have him wear simple patterns or solid colors like grey, white, navy blue, burgundy, olive green, mustard yellow, etc. You can’t go wrong with a nice button down shirt!
Well Groomed!
This is his day as well, he deserves to feel as handsome as you do beautiful. Schedule an appointment at the barber and let a professional do their magic. Don’t be afraid to buy yourself a new watch or tie for this special occasion.
Empty your pockets!
The reason I say this to the men is because they are such gentlemen and hold our lip-gloss, our phone, the keys, their wallet, etc. It is easier to leave it in the car, than worry about it getting stepped on or lost.
WORD OF WARNING!
Please whatever you do, don’t do anything drastic the day before your photo-shoot. You never know how your skin is going to react to the eyebrow wax, or if your hair color is going to end up being more bold than you had hoped. Prepare yourself a week or two before, so that you can feel confident in your own skin!
RELAX AND HAVE FUN!
Lastly, have a good time! Be yourself and be in love! He is the one that you want to spend forever with! I promise you, that after our session together, you will feel extremely confident, beautiful, and more in love than when you arrived (if that’s possible).
